Promising Pages and the Charlotte Dilworth Southend Rotary Club recently launched a new initiative to serve families through community partners addressing food insecurities. The Feed the Body, Feed the Mind project has partnered with Loaves and Fishes and Second Harvest Foodbank of Metrolina to distribute children’s books through food pantries and school-based mobile pantries in and around Charlotte. This week, WSOC-TV reporter Elsa Gillis visited one of our distributions and spoke to families about why this new initiative is so important, especially during the pandemic.
