Caitlyn Bergmann, Dana Barber

We are both sad and pleased to report that our Operations Coordinator Caitlyn Bergmann has made the difficult decision to return to the Triangle area to be closer to family and friends.

Caitlyn has accepted a position with Book Harvest, our sister organization in Durham. We will miss Caitlyn tremendously, but are thrilled for her and grateful for everything she has done for Promising Pages for the past three years. Caitlyn’s last day is Friday, February 15.

“Promising Pages would not have accomplished all that we did last year without Caitlyn’s excellent management of our warehouse and volunteers,” said Kelly Cates, our COO (and Caitlyn’s supervisor). “She’s been a huge asset to us, and I’m so happy she’ll be continuing to help under-resourced children gain access to books.”

Ordinarily, filling Caitlyn‘s shoes would be a daunting task, but we are excited to welcome Dana Barber as her successor. Dana first joined Promising Pages as a Team Read Ambassador in the summer of 2017, served as an intern during the 2017-18 academic year, worked with Caitlyn as assistant director of Team Read in the summer of 2018, and has continued to volunteer with us since then.

Dana graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management, and a minor in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Her expertise will serve us well as we implement our new inventory system and continue our efforts to make the most efficient use of our warehouse space. Dana started work as Operations Coordinator earlier this month, giving her two weeks to work with Caitlyn and the rest of our team to ensure the smoothest possible transition.

Caitlyn, we are proud of you, thank you for your service, and wish you all the best!
