Operations Center Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Promising Pages! Children should be proud of the books they receive from Promising Pages, and our warehouse volunteers make that possible by helping donated books look their best when they meet their new owners. Volunteers help us clean and process the 250,000+ donated children’s books before they are re-homed with the 60,000 children and 200 community partners we serve each year.
Our individual and standard-group volunteer operations are unavailable until after Labor Day. We want everyone to enjoy their volunteer experience and because our warehouse is not temperature controlled we pause volunteer opportunities in the hottest summer months. Please stay tuned for the next chapter of our volunteer adventures together! We can’t wait to see you again, soon!
Individuals
Clean and process books with other passionate local volunteers by signing up for an individual shift in our operations center. Here, you will help extend the lifecycle of so many beloved books so they can be rehomed, and cherished by new children for years to come!
- Work is mostly seated
- Volunteer shifts are up to 2 hours on weekdays
- Volunteers must be 18+
- Our warehouse is not climate controlled so, for your own comfort, please dress accordingly
- There is free on-site parking
For any other volunteer questions, you can email [email protected].
Groups
Get up to 12 of your co-workers, community group members, family members, or friends involved in strengthening children’s book access across the region by signing up for a group volunteer shift! During your shift your group will help us clean and process books that will spark the imagination of a new generation of readers. If your group is 13 or more individuals please reach out to [email protected] to schedule a custom volunteer experience.

Volunteer Projects
Groups and individuals can support our work in a variety of ways. The volunteer opportunities below can be done in any location and we’ll provide you with the templates and instructions to get you started.
Virtual Book Drive
Help under-resourced children build diverse libraries by hosting a virtual book drive. Download our Virtual Book Drive Flyer that links to our online book wish lists or direct participants to visit one of our independent book store partners to purchase books locally.
Bookworms & Bookmarks
If you’re feeling crafty, you can build Bookworm Buddies, color our Bilingual Bookmarks, or fold little origami bookmarks. All three projects are fun, portable, and are given to our students to foster a love of reading. Download our templates and instructions here. Bookworm Projects
Host a Book Drive
Collect new and donated children’s books and drop them off at our Operations Center. Use our How To Run A Book Drive guide and our customizable flyers to save time!
